Appendix A - Technical Information
The Planets app is a digital art app designed to display animated abstract images.
This documentation is aimed at describing the additional functionality that sits around the core animated display screen.
The core screen is the display of images that are animated and appears when the app is run. When the app is started the first movement of Holst, The Planets, entitled Mars, the Bringer of War is played. The playing of this and subsequent movements results in Holst's music being played together with an abstract display that is displayed on the Android device's display screen.
Holst The Planets consist of seven movements. These are as follows:-
The app automatically moves on to the next movement once the current movement is completed. The display is fixed in landscape mode.
On the top right hand side of the screen are the three dots of the main menu. Touching the screen at this point opens up the menu which can be seen in the display on the left.
The first menu item is the Movements option which opens up to the menu shown in the previous section. There then follows the Stop option which when pressed results in the end of the visual display and the associated music. A blank screen is displayed.
The final menu entry is the Version Info entry which when pressed opens up to display the items shown in the screen on the right.
The version dialog display displays the current version number plus the developers name, Colin Greenwood, e-mail address and web site.
